'In specific sessions, they learn important life skills, including the importance of playing and working together. This has a very positive effect on nurturing the positive behaviour of nearly all pupils.’

What do schools think?

Rhian Grieves - Deputy Headteacher Ysgol Cybi

"What CELS can offer is above and beyond ‘normal’ lessons. Every child should get the opportunity to experience the work they do.

Pupils learn that it’s good to fail – it doesn’t make them weak it makes them stronger. The way the lessons are run through Cymraeg, builds such a positive relationship, they are such strong role models, which many unfortunately don’t have.

Several of our pupils come to school because of the CELS lessons, they look forward to the day and the activities that are planned for them.  The children share their experiences with their parents/carers, it can change the families' views on school and education.

The parents and carers are invited in for the end of year Graduation – sharing the celebration of their childs’ success together. The staff love to see our children grow and develop their characters and so do the parents and carers too.  The graduation and celebration is a very special day!"
